New Delhi. There has been a huge change in the ICC rankings after India’s victory over Bangladesh. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has reached number one in the ICC rankings. The special thing is that he has captured the top by ousting his own senior. Indians are also in the ranking of batsmen. Yashasvi Jaiswal is rapidly moving towards number one while Virat Kohli has once again returned to the top-10.
ICC released the latest Test rankings on October 2. Jasprit Bumrah has reached the first position in the Test ranking of bowlers. He has captured the top by ousting Ravichandran Ashwin of India. Off-spinner Ashwin has slipped to second position. Interestingly, both Bumrah and Ashwin took 11 wickets each against Bangladesh. Ashwin was the player of the series. However, Bumrah’s performance was better than Ashwin in bowling average and economy rate.
Three Indian bowlers in top-10
Talking about ICC rating, Ashwin is just one point behind fast bowler Bumrah. Bumrah is at first place with 870 rating and Ashwin (869) is at second place. Ravindra Jadeja is at sixth position with 809 rating points. In this way, three Indians are included in the top-10 bowlers.
Root first, Williamson second
Yashasvi Jaiswal has reached third place in the ranking of batsmen. This is the best ranking of his career. He scored the most runs in India-Bangladesh. Yashasvi had scored half-centuries in both the innings of the Kanpur Test. He was chosen Player of the Match in the Kanpur Test. He has jumped 2 places in the latest ranking. Joe Root is at first place and Kane Williamson is at second place.
Kohli’s return to top-10
Virat Kohli has also returned to the top-10. He is at sixth position with 724 rating. However, Kohli could score only 99 runs against Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill and Rishabh Pant have suffered losses in rankings. Rohit is out of the top-10. He has slipped 5 places and reached number 15. Rishabh Pant has slipped from sixth to ninth position. Shubhman Gill has moved from 14th to 16th.
Jadeja number 1 allrounder
Indian cricketers occupy the first two positions in the ranking of all-rounders. Ravindra Jadeja is at number one with 468 rating points. After him is Ravichandran Ashwin (358). Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh is at third place, Joe Root is at fourth place and Mehdi Hasan is at fifth place.
