ICC bans 26 year old cricketer, has played ODI-Test and T20 matches

New Delhi. ICC has banned Sri Lankan young cricketer Praveen Jayawickrama for one year. Left arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama has been accused of violating the ICC Anti Corruption Code (ACU). 26-year-old Jayawickrama has accepted the charges.

Praveen Jayawickrama made his debut for Sri Lanka in 2021. He made it to all three formats with his performance. However, this player could not maintain his place in the team. Jayawickrama played his last match for his country in June 2022. After this, he was out of the team and has not been able to make a place in the team till now.

Praveen Jayawickrama has played 5 Test, 5 ODI and 5 T20 International matches for Sri Lanka. He is accused of delaying or obstructing the investigation of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit. Apart from this, destroying documents or hiding other information are also included in the allegations against him. The ICC considered it a crime under the Anti-Corruption Code and banned him.
