This year has been quiet for Micromax. Now the company has returned with the new Infinity ‘N’ series. Micromax has made the most important trend of 2018 a part of its portfolio through Infinity N11 and Infinity N12. Both the new smartphones of Micromax come with notch, very thin bezel and AI feature. Micromax Infinity N11 and Micromax Infinity N12 smartphones are equipped with two rear cameras, 4000 mAh battery and out of box Android 8.1 Oreo.

At the launch event, we spent some time with both the Micromax smartphones. How did we like these smartphones at first glance? Let’s know…

The Infinity N11 and Infinity N12 are primarily made of plastic. The phones look very similar. The power and volume buttons are on the right side of both phones. Their position is good and they give good feedback. The micro-USB port and headphone jack are at the bottom of the phone. The SIM tray is on the top. There are two slots for nano SIMs and a separate slot for microSD card.

Due to the curved edges, both the phones fit easily in the hand. Despite having a 4000 mAh battery, both the phones are not very heavy. However, it is too early to give any final verdict on the build quality. But according to us, the phones look a bit cheaper than the phones already being sold in the market.

The back panel of Micromax Infinity N12 comes with a glossy finish. It is reflective and fingerprints are easily left on it. The phone will come in Blue Lagoon, Velvet Red and Viola gradient finish colors. All these three variants come with gradient finish. In comparison, Infinity N11 is equipped with a matte back panel. You will get a lot of fingerprints in this phone. Honor 8X ,Review) will be missed.

The Micromax Infinity N11 and Infinity N12 feature 6.19-inch HD+ (720×1500 pixels) displays with 18.9:9 aspect ratio. In the short time we spent with the handsets, we liked the brightness and colour rendition of both the phones. But the HD+ resolution disappointed. Due to this, text and images did not look perfect at times.

Both smartphones are equipped with MediaTek Helio P22 processor. Infinity N12 has 3 GB RAM and Infinity N11 has 2 GB RAM. The Helio P22 processor is made from 12nm process. Micromax has claimed that it has worked in partnership with MediaTek to improve the performance of both the phones.

We will talk about the performance of the phone in detail in the review. But at first glance, we are satisfied with the phone. However, the fact that the Infinity N11 has only 2GB of RAM is not good news for multitasking. However, the final decision on this will be given in the review.

Both the smartphones run on Android 8.1 Oreo which has been slightly customized by Micromax. The user interface is very smooth. Micromax has promised that Android Pie update will be released for both the smartphones in the next 45 days.

Both the smartphones are equipped with 32 GB storage. You will be able to use microSD cards up to 128 GB. Micromax has also made big claims about the battery of both the phones, which will be tested during the review.

Both the phones are equipped with 13+5 megapixel dual rear camera setup. The Infinity N11 has an 8 megapixel selfie camera and the Infinity N12 has a 16 megapixel selfie shooter. You will find modes like Beauty, Bokeh, Panorama and Time Lapse in the camera app.

It will not be easy for Micromax to regain its old reputation in the market. But the company’s co-founder told Gadgets 360 that he is ready for the long race. With Infinity N11 and Infinity N12, Micromax has presented a strong challenge on paper. Unfortunately, these phones do not have any unique features. If we look at the price range of Rs 10,000, brands like Asus, Realme, Honor and Xiaomi have launched very powerful products. In such a situation, the road is not easy for Micromax.

We will soon come up with detailed reviews of the Micromax Infinity N11 and Micromax Infinity N12.
