Honor 8X design and specifications
Honor 8X not only gives a premium look but at the same time this smartphone is also strong. The design of this phone is so good that it does not look like a phone of the budget segment less than Rs 20,000. Dual-tone color scheme has been used on the back panel. Honor 8X has a 6.5-inch (1080×2340 pixels) IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. Like other Honor smartphones, you will get a notch design in this phone as well. The display of this Honor brand smartphone uses a brightness of at least 2 nits, which is why your eyes will not feel any kind of discomfort while using the phone even where there is no light.
Compared to Honor 9N and Honor Play, the bottom part of Honor 8X is quite thin. There is no button on the bottom part, you can easily use any of the on-screen keys or EMUI gestures. On the left side of the phone is the SIM tray (two nano SIMs and microSD card slot). On the right side you will find buttons to lock/power the phone and increase and decrease the volume. On the bottom part you have a loudspeaker, 3.5 mm headphone jack, primary microphone and micro-USB port. At this price, the company has decided not to provide USB-Type C. The secondary microphone has been placed on the top of the phone.
For photography, you will see a vertical dual rear camera setup on the back panel. There is a 20-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfie and video calling, you will get a 16-megapixel front camera, its aperture is f/2.0. The rear and front cameras of Honor 8X come with AI feature. If you want, you can use or turn off the AI feature as per your convenience. Honor 8 takes sharp close-up and wide-angle pictures in the light present in the house. We will soon bring a review for you to tell how well the phone’s camera sensor performs in different situations.
For security, there is a fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature on the back panel. After spending some time with the phone, we found the fingerprint sensor to be fast and accurate. The face unlock feature also works fast but it has some difficulty in working accurately in low light. The smartphone has a nifty feature that increases the brightness of the screen in low light so that your face can be recognized correctly, we will be able to give you the rest of the information in our upcoming review. This will be the first smartphone equipped with this chipset in the Indian market. The company says that it gives better performance than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset.
