Home Minister Amit Shah to review JK security situation on Sunday

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir today in the wake of recent terror attacks. Shah is expected to give broad guidelines to intensify anti-terror operations. The Home Minister will also review preparations for the annual Amarnath Yatra starting from June 29.

Shah will review three days after PM Modi’s meeting

Shah will chair a high-level meeting three days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a similar meeting on Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister had directed officials to deploy the full spectrum of counter-terrorism capabilities after several terror incidents, including the attack on a bus carrying pilgrims.

These officers will also take part in the meeting

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Army Chief-designate Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, CRPF Director General Aneesh Dayal Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Police Director General R R Swain and other top security officials are also expected to attend the meeting.

Officials will brief the Home Minister on various security related issues

According to sources, Home Minister Amit Shah will be briefed by the officials about the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, deployment of forces on the International Border and Line of Control, infiltration attempts, the status of ongoing anti-terrorism operations and terrorists active in the Union Territory. It is expected that Amit Shah will give comprehensive guidelines to the security agencies regarding immediate action in accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister.

Four terrorist attacks in four days in Jammu and Kashmir

Terrorists have carried out attacks at four places in Reasi, Kathua and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir in four days, killing nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan and injuring several others, including seven security personnel.
