Sultanpur. Himanshu Singh is one of the three cricketers from the country whose names have come up for the Indian team camp. Himanshu Singh is a resident of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Himanshu will get a chance to show his bowling skills in front of legendary cricketers like Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Let us tell you that only three cricketers have been called for the camp in the whole country. These include Mayank Yadav, Yudhveer Singh and Himanshu Singh. Himanshu Singh’s grandfather Harisen Singh told Local 18 that Himanshu has been interested in cricket since childhood. Earlier, Himanshu participated in district and state level cricket competitions and has also won many awards. Today Himanshu is a source of inspiration for those young cricketers who are struggling in cricket. Among the three brothers, Himanshu and Divyanshu are twin brothers. Himanshu studied till class 8 in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. After class 8, Himanshu started living in Mumbai and he did his further studies while living in Mumbai and learned the real technique of cricket from here. In 2015, with the help of Sultanpur District Cricket Association Secretary Asad Ahmed, Himanshu took admission in Albarakat School in Mumbai and from here he played for Under-16 in 2018 and Under-19 Mumbai team from 2019-22.
The journey of cricket started from this ground
Himanshu’s initial cricket practice took place at the DCA cricket ground of Ganpat Sahay PG College located in Sultanpur city. Himanshu, who made his journey from this ground to Team India, whenever he comes to Sultanpur, he definitely practices with his old teammates at the DCA cricket ground built in Ganpat Sahay PG College. Himanshu’s father Veersen Singh is working as an inspector in the police and is currently posted in Deoria district. His mother is a housewife. When Himanshu’s father saw Himanshu’s interest in cricket, he encouraged him towards this game, the result of which is in front of everyone today. Let us tell you that Himanshu was a part of the 15-member team in the Ranji played between Kerala and Mumbai in January 2024.
