Himachal Pradesh witnessed increased in tourist footfall in May this year

Himachal Pradesh News: In Himachal Pradesh, the arrival of tourists in the month of May has increased by 3.5 percent as compared to the same period last year. This year, 74 lakh tourists visited Himachal in the month of May. Out of a total of 74,64,184 tourists, the number of foreign tourists was 32,415. Which was 23,174 last year. Last year in May, 72,02,956 tourists visited Himachal. This information was given by Civil Aviation Director Mansi Sahay Thakur.

According to official figures, Kullu received the highest number of tourists at 14,97,920, followed by Solan. In May, 10,41,074 tourists visited here. Shimla also attracted people like before. 9,99,065 tourists visited here in May. Solan also remained a centre of attraction for tourists, where most people visited Kasauli and Chail.

Tourists want to go to places with short distance
Mansi Sahay said that people wanted to go to those places where it is easy to reach and the distance is also less. At the same time, the option of homestay has also increased in these tourist places. At the same time, tourism officials say that Kandaghat-Sadhupul have also become tourist hotspots. Whereas due to being close to Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab, Solan saw a large number of tourists this year.

Because of this tourists are drawn to Himachal
People go to Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur districts to see the picturesque scenery and snow-clad hills. Shimla is popular as the Queen of Hills where British-era buildings can be seen. Tourists come to Kullu-Malnali to enjoy snow and adventure sports related to it. People go to Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Sirmaur and Mandi to visit Shakti Peeth. Mandi, which is also called Choti Kashi, has ancient temples of Lord Shiva.
