The voter list for the assembly by-election is yet to be finalized. The by-election was held on June 1. Lok Sabha Elections In 2015, 71.84 percent voting took place in Nalagarh assembly seat. In such a situation, the number of voters may increase marginally. BJP has fielded old soldier Krishna Lal Thakur in the electoral battle of Nalagarh. The announcement of the candidate from Congress is awaited at present.

Result of three assembly elections

In the year 2022, Krishna Lal Thakur won the Nalagarh assembly seat as an independent candidate. Krishna Lal Thakur got 33 thousand 427 votes. BJP’s Lakhwinder Singh Rana got 17 thousand 273 votes and Congress’s Hardeep Singh Bawa got 20 thousand 163 votes. 590 people also used NOTA in Nalagarh. In such a situation, Krishna Lal Thakur won by getting 44.51 percent votes.

Krishan Lal Thakur lost in 2017

In the 2017 assembly elections, Congress candidate Lakhwinder Singh Rana won. He won by a margin of 1,242 votes. Lakhwinder Rana got 25,872 votes, BJP’s Krishan Lal Thakur got 24,630 votes and independent Hardeep Singh Bawa got 13,095 votes. In the 2012 assembly elections, BJP candidate Krishan Lal Thakur got 35,341 votes and Congress candidate Lakhwinder Singh Rana got 26,033 votes. In this way, Krishan Lal Thakur won by a margin of 9,308 votes.
