Hezbollah Top Commander Killed: A top Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqeel was killed in the Israeli attack on Lebanon’s capital Beirut. The Israeli army says that along with Ibrahim Aqeel, about 10 senior Hezbollah commanders were killed. At the time of the attack, Hezbollah’s operations commander Ibrahim Aqeel was holding a meeting with members of the group’s Radwan unit.

The US had placed a reward of 7 million dollars (about 53 crores rupees) for information on Aqeel. The US said that Aqeel was the main conspirator of the attack on the US Embassy in Beirut in 1983. 63 people died in this attack. Aqeel was also involved in the attack on the US Marine Barracks in the same year, in which 241 American personnel lost their lives.

According to Sky News, if Ibrahim Aqeel’s death is confirmed, it shows that Hezbollah has completely failed to protect its members and senior commanders. Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that Aqeel was killed in air strikes in Beirut. The Israeli spokesman said that Aqeel has served as the head of Hezbollah’s special forces. However, no statement has come from Hezbollah in this matter.
