Hezbollah Attacks on Israel: A Lebanese terrorist group has attacked the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights with a rocket. At least 12 people, including children, have died in this attack. At least 29 people have been injured. Israel has described this attack as the biggest attack after the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7. According to Israel, the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah attacked Shams village in the northern Golan Heights with a rocket on Saturday.

Israel said it had identified ‘about 30 projectiles’ coming from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Iran has blamed the Iran-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah for the bombing. Sporadic incidents have been going on along the border between Israel and Lebanon for the past 10 months, but this bombing could lead to a war. Some Israeli leaders have demanded retaliation, however, Hezbollah has strongly denied this attack. Firing has been going on between Israel and Hezbollah across the border line for about 10 months, which is increasing. Even before Saturday’s attack, regional leaders had warned that the conflict was reaching a boiling point.

Attack on the football field
This attack took place in a football field in Majdal Shams village, in which children playing there lost their lives. It is being told that after the initial attack, a warning siren was also sounded, but people could not escape from the ground. A large number of people from the Druze community live in Majdal Shams village. About 20,000 Druze Arabs live in the Golan Heights. This is the same area that Israel took from Syria during the Six Day War in 1967 and annexed it in 1981. Under international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions, it is considered an occupied area. This area is home to about 50,000 Israeli Jews and Druze.

Netanyahu returns from US visit
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said the sites hit included a soccer field where children and teenagers were playing. He described the attack as the ‘deadliest attack on Israeli civilians since October 7’. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he was cutting short his US visit by several hours due to the attack and returning to Israel. He said he would immediately call a meeting of the security cabinet upon his return.

Israel threatened to pay a heavy price
The Prime Minister said that he was ‘shocked’ by this attack. Netanyahu has said that Israel will not remain silent after this attack. Earlier, in a separate statement, Netanyahu’s office said that the Prime Minister has made it clear that Hezbollah will have to pay a heavy price for this attack, which it has not paid yet. In such a situation, it is expected that Israel will now fight a war with both Hamas and Hezbollah.
