Kohli praised Bumrah Virat called Bumrah a national heritage

New Delhi. Virat Kohli has called Team India’s fellow bowler Jasprit Bumrah the eighth wonder of the world. Bumrah played an important role in helping Team India win the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. Bumrah impressed with his tight bowling in the tournament. He always got wickets when the team needed them. Virat praised Bumrah a lot at the World Champion players’ felicitation ceremony. He said that such a bowler comes once in a century. Team India, which won the T20 World Cup for the second time by defeating South Africa in the final, was stuck in Barbados for three days due to Hurricane Beryl.

The victory parade to welcome the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team saw a huge crowd in Mumbai on Thursday as thousands of cricket fans desperate to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars brought traffic in south Mumbai to a complete standstill. As per the pre-scheduled schedule, the victory procession was scheduled to begin at 5 pm from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) at Nariman Point and conclude at the Wankhede Stadium at 7 pm. But the Rohit Sharma-led team arrived late from New Delhi, forcing the parade to begin only after 7.30 pm.

Virat Kohli said in the felicitation ceremony held at Wankhede Stadium that Jasprit Bumrah gave the biggest gift to the country. A bowler like him comes only once in a century. According to Kohli, ‘He (Bumrah) is the 8th wonder of the world. He brought us back in the match every time. He is a great bowler.’ Bumrah is a specialist bowler in death overs. He bowled sharply in the World Cup held in America and West Indies. He was the most frugal bowler in terms of conceding runs.

During the celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium, Gaurav Kapoor asked Virat Kohli, “If I am thinking of signing a petition to declare Jasprit Bumrah a national heritage, will you also sign it with me?” To this, Virat said without any hesitation, “I will sign it right now.” Later Bumrah said that I do not cry after any match, but after the final, tears came out of my eyes two-three times. Virat Kohli will no longer be seen in T20 International cricket. This was his last World Cup.
