New Delhi. Bad news came for Team India on the morning of 4th November. Actually, Hardik Pandya, who was included in the list of best all-rounders of Team India, was out of the World Cup. This is undoubtedly the biggest shock for Team India. Can this be considered an alarm bell for Team India? Because something similar had happened 4 years ago also due to which Team India’s batting had a big impact and the Indian team could not win the World Cup.
Actually, we are talking about the 2019 World Cup. When Shikhar Dhawan was out of the World Cup due to thumb injury and something similar happened in the World Cup 2023 when Hardik Pandya was out. Due to Shikhar Dhawan’s exclusion from the 2019 World Cup, a young wicketkeeper was entered in Team India. However, KL Rahul used to do the opening. KL Rahul was performing well as an opener. He also performed brilliantly while batting at number four. Rahul had scored 361 runs in 9 matches in the tournament.
Rishabh Pant was included
After Shikhar Dhawan’s exit, BCCI gave a chance to Rishabh Pant in the team. But trying Pant did not prove to be very effective for the team. Pant had scored only 168 runs while playing 4 matches. The highest score was 48. In the semi-final match, Rishabh Pant was out after scoring 32 runs.
Dhawan had scored 125 runs in 2 matches
India played the first match of the 2019 World Cup against South Africa. In that match, Dhawan was out after scoring 8 runs in 12 balls. Rohit Sharma had scored a century. On the basis of which Team India won the match by 6 wickets. The next match was played by India against Australia. In which Shikhar Dhawan played a century inning of 117 runs. After this, Dhawan could not play a single match for India and was out of the tournament. India lost to New Zealand in the semi-finals.
India has lost the trophy earlier also due to exclusion of players.
