Doctors on Strike in Haryana: On the call of Haryana Civil Medical Service Association, doctors in Sector-10 Civil Hospital went on strike for two hours from 9 am to 11 am. During this time, OPD was kept closed. Emergency services were not disrupted. Patients were seen getting upset due to the closure of OPD.
Dr. Keshav Sharma, Senior Vice President of Gurugram District of Haryana Civil Medical Service Association, said that in a meeting with Health Secretary Sudhir Rajpal on June 26, information was given about the status of the demands. After mutual agreement between the government and the HCMS Association, the doctors had suspended their agitation six months ago. Despite this, the accepted demands have not been met till date.
Due to this, dissatisfaction has increased among the doctors
Dissatisfaction has grown among doctors over the demands of specialist cadre, lack of bond for PG courses, stopping direct recruitment of SMOs and not getting ACP allowances equal to central government doctors. He said that even after six months, the situation remains the same today due to growing dissatisfaction over the demands of stopping direct recruitment of SMOs and not getting ACP allowances equal to central government doctors.
The proposal is stuck in the finance department for the last four months
The striking doctors said that out of 3900 posts of medical officers, 1100, out of 636 posts of SMOs, 250 and out of eight posts of directors, five posts are vacant. There is a huge shortage of specialists in government hospitals. The proposal for specialist cadre is stuck in the finance department for the last four months. The proposal for reduction in the amount of PG bond is also pending for six months. The file for regular promotion from MO to SMO is also stuck for the last one and a half years. He said that the doctors who joined as MOs in 2002 are still waiting for promotion.
will go on indefinite strike after 25th July
Doctors are fighting for basic issues like regular promotion, ACP, probation clearance etc. The striking doctors said that if the government does not accept the demands, they will go on indefinite strike after July 25. On Monday, patients who came to the government hospital had to face a lot of problems due to the OPD being closed for two hours.
