Hardoi Police Encounter: An encounter took place between the police and cattle smugglers in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. In which two cattle smugglers and three policemen were injured. Their third companion has also been arrested. A sub-inspector and two constables were also injured in the encounter. They have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The police have also recovered 1 pickup, 9 buffalo animals, 2 pistols, 5 cartridges and shells from the accused.
A gang of cattle thieves was active in the Tadiyawan and Pihani areas of Hardoi for a long time. This was a headache for the Hardoi police. SP Keshav Chand Goswami had deployed several teams including local police, SWAT, surveillance and SOG for the disclosure. Meanwhile, the police received information from an informer that some clever thieves who stole buffaloes were present in the forest near Japara village. The police reached the spot and laid a siege from all sides to catch the accused. Seeing themselves surrounded, the accused started firing at the police team. In the retaliatory action of the police, the miscreants Ratipal and Saddam got shot in the leg, after which the police arrested them.
Accused Ratipal is a resident of Thukri of Madanpur police station area of Shahjahanpur. He has been shot in his left leg while Saddam is a resident of Gulbpurwa of Manjhila police station area. During interrogation, the police also arrested their other accomplice Tahirpur, a resident of Kurmuli of Pihani, who used to buy cattle from these cattle smugglers. Also, taking advantage of the darkness, two accused managed to escape. The police team is making every possible effort to arrest them.
Three policemen, Sub-Inspector Nand Kumar Tiwari, Constable Atul Kumar and Omprakash were also injured in the encounter. They have been admitted to CHC Tadiyawan for treatment. The SP said that the police have recovered four buffaloes, four calves, one calf, one pickup, two pistols of 315 bore with three live and two empty cartridges from the possession of the accused. At present, all the injured are being treated. The SP reached the district hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured.
