The war that began after Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 has failed to drive this Islamic terrorist organization out of Palestine even after 8 months. But this war has caused massive destruction. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagar, while talking to an Israeli channel, said, “Hamas is an ideology, we cannot eliminate an ideology.”
He further said that ‘Saying that we will make Hamas disappear is an attempt to throw dust in people’s eyes. If we do not give them any alternative, then in the end we will make Hamas win.’
Jamin Netanyahu’s office said the attack will continue until Hamas is destroyed
However the army’s comments were quickly refuted by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose cabinet has said the offensive on Gaza will not end until Hamas is defeated.
The October 7 attack that kicked off the war killed 1,194 Israelis, most of them civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures. The militants also took 251 hostages. Of these, 116 remain in Gaza, although the military says 41 have been killed.
At least 37,396 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in Gaza in Israel’s retaliatory strikes aimed at eliminating Hamas, according to the Hamas-run territory’s health ministry.
