Senior Congress leader, former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh came to Gwalior on Friday. Congress leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Singh welcomed him at the airport. He paid tribute to Madhavi Raje at Jai Vilas Palace. He offered condolences to Jyotiraditya Scindia and Mahaaryaman Scindia. He met the media but kept silence on political questions.

From there, Digvijay Singh reached the residence of former MLA and senior socialist leader Brijendra Tomar at Gasht Ka Tajia by road and enquired about his health. Tiwari has been unwell for some time. From here, Singh reached the Madhya Bharat Khadi Village Industry office, where he was welcomed by the leaders associated with the committee. After this, he observed the activities going on there and appreciated their work.

After this, Singh reached Jaivilas Palace directly and paid tribute to the late Madhavi Raje by offering flowers on her picture. He also consoled Jyotiraditya Scindia and Mahaaryaman Scindia by talking to them. Digvijay Singh reached Jaivilas Palace for the first time in 2020 after Scindia left the Congress and joined the BJP. However, this visit was also not political but a family one.

When the media talked to Singh, he said that I have come to Gwalior to pay tribute to the late Rajmata Sahib and to meet Jyotiraditya Scindia and his family members. When he was asked a question about BJP’s slogan of four hundred, he moved ahead without answering.

Let us tell you that on 30 September 2001, when Congress veteran and former Union Minister Madhav Rao Scindia died untimely in a plane crash, Digvijay Singh was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. On receiving the news of his death, Digvijay Singh immediately reached Gwalior from Bhopal. He supervised all the preparations including his last rites. He stayed there for 13 days and remained active without shoes and slippers. However, the political relations between him and Scindia were never good.
