Guyana, Barbados to confer top honor to PM; his global awards' count to touch 19, Know Details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be given the highest honor in Guyana and Barbados. Earlier, Dominica had recently given the highest honor to PM Modi. Till now the Prime Minister has received national honors from 19 countries across the world. In Guyana, PM Modi will be honored with the highest national honor – The Order of Excellence, while in Barbados, PM Modi will be honored with the prestigious Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados.

Nigeria has also honored

Earlier on Sunday, Nigeria honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with its second highest national honour, ‘Grand Commander of the Order Niger’. With this honour, Prime Minister Modi has become the second foreign leader to be honored with the prestigious award. After receiving the award, PM Modi said, ‘Delighted to be honored with Nigeria’s ‘Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger’ award. But I feel very proud. I accept it with great humility and dedicate it to the people of India. This is the 17th international award given to Modi. Earlier in 1969, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth was honored with this award.

From which countries has PM Modi received honors?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity is highest at the global level. In a survey he was declared the most popular leader. Not only this, many countries have also honored him with their highest awards. For his leadership at the regional and global level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored with the highest national awards of 19 countries since 2014, including the United Nations’ highest environmental award.

PM Modi has also been honored by Afghanistan and Palestine

Let us tell you that PM Modi was given the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan by Afghanistan in 2016, Grand Collar of the State of Palestine by Palestine in February 2018, and UN Champion of the Earth Award by the United Nations in October 2018. At the same time, he was awarded the Order of Zayed by UAE in April 2019 and the Order of St. Andrew Award by Russia in April 2019 itself. Additionally, PM Modi was awarded the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin by Maldives in June 2019, King Hamad Order of the Renaissance by Bahrain in August 2019, Legion of Merit by the US in December 2020, and Order of the Dragon King by Bhutan in December 2021. And in May this year he was awarded the Order of Fiji by Fiji and the Order of Logohu by Papua New Guinea.

Egypt has also given the highest state honor to PM

At the same time, in June last year, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi honored Prime Minister Modi with the ‘Order of the Nile’ award. This is Egypt’s highest state honour. Companion of the Order of Logohu by Papua New Guinea in May 2023, Companion of the Order of Fiji in May 2023, was awarded the Abakal Award by the Republic of Palau in May 2023.

France and Russia have also left no stone unturned in giving awards.

In July 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the Legion of Honor by France. This is France’s highest honour. PM Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this honour. The Legion of Honor is awarded to selected prominent leaders and eminent personalities from around the world. These include former South African President Nelson Mandela, the then Prince of Wales King Charles, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former United Nations Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and others. Last July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Russia’s highest honor ‘Order of St. Andrew Apostle’.
