Gujarat Rains In Surat: Many parts of Gujarat received heavy rains on Monday, leaving many areas submerged. Surat’s Umarpada taluka received 347 mm of rain between 6 am and 10 am. According to data shared by the State Emergency Response Center (SEOC), Gujarat has received 30 percent of the average monsoon rainfall so far.
The state’s Ahmedabad received heavy rainfall in the afternoon and evening, causing waterlogging in many underpasses along with roads and inundation in low-lying areas, causing traffic disruptions and causing people to face many problems.
How much rain fell where?
SEOC said that parts of Bharuch, Narmada, Panchmahal, Vadodara and Anand districts received more than 50 mm rainfall during the 12-hour period ending at 6 pm. Umarpada in Surat received 347 mm rainfall in a span of four hours, while Netrang in Bharuch and Garudeshwar, Nanded and Tilakwada talukas of Narmada district received 100-200 mm rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall along with extremely heavy rainfall in some areas of Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Chhota Udaipur, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath districts on Tuesday.
