Android expert Mishal Rehman has informed through a post on X that Google’s Car Crash Detection feature is now available in a total of five countries including India. These also include Austria, Belgium, Portugal and Switzerland. This expansion of the feature is good news for users in new countries, as car accident detection can help ensure that accident victims get the necessary help as quickly as possible.
Let us tell you that when this feature is on, Google Pixel smartphones use sensors like accelerometer and gyroscope to monitor signs of accident. If a crash is detected, the phone will vibrate and ring loudly.

You will have 60 seconds to swipe on the “I’m OK” or “Call 911” option. If you don’t answer, the phone will automatically dial local emergency services and share your real time and location with them.
If you tap “I’m OK,” you’ll be asked to choose from three options: “No accident,” “Minor accident,” and “Call 112.” If you call emergency services, you will again be prompted to choose whether it is a “medical,” “fire” or “police” emergency.
Pixel’s car crash detection feature is available on Pixel 4a and newer models. It’s also important to note that this feature is currently limited to 11 languages, so it may not be available in your native language.
