Prohibitory orders have been imposed here before the first T20 International cricket match between India and Bangladesh to be held on Sunday (6 October) so that the match can be organized properly. According to officials, the District Magistrate in his order has banned protests and especially the spread of inflammatory material on social media.

This order will remain in force till October 7. Hindu Mahasabha had called for Gwalior bandh on the day of the match (6 October). Apart from this, other organizations have also threatened to protest, in view of which this decision was taken. Hindu Mahasabha had protested on Wednesday demanding cancellation of Sunday’s match over ‘atrocities’ committed against Hindus in Bangladesh.

District Magistrate and Collector Ruchika Chauhan issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) on the recommendation of the Superintendent of Police, officials said. According to the order, if any person within the limits of the district disrupts the match or incites religious sentiments through social media platforms, then action will be taken against him.
