A person filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court saying that BCCI, which conducts IPL, has to pay Rs 60 crore to Delhi Police in lieu of providing security. The bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora rejected this petition and instead enumerated the benefits of this tournament.

The bench said that it is the state’s issue to recover this amount. The court cannot give an order in this regard. The state gets a lot of tax from this. It is capable of recovering the money.
