Four Naxalites were killed in an encounter with the police in Chaibasa, Jharkhand. The dead include a zonal commander, a sub-zonal commander and an area commander. Two other area commanders have been arrested. Apart from this, several rifles were recovered from them. An officer said that the incident took place near Tonto and Goilkera areas.
Jharkhand Police spokesperson and IG Amol V. Homkar said, four Naxalites were killed in the encounter, while the other two have been arrested. A woman is also among the arrested Naxalites. Another police officer said that the police had gone out for a search operation. During this, the Maoists sitting in ambush started firing. In retaliation, the police also opened fire, in which four Naxalites were killed.
Four arrested with drugs in Simdega
In Simdega district of Jharkhand, police arrested four people with 155 kg of narcotics. Its value is said to be Rs 20 lakh. Talking to the media, Simdega Superintendent of Police said that he received information that a large consignment of narcotics was being brought from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh.
