Sherika De Armas Death: Former Miss World contestant Sherrica de Armas passed away at the age of 26. She represented Uruguay in the Miss World pageant in 2015. According to New York Post, Sherika was suffering from cervical cancer for two years. Sherika de Armas’ brother Mayak de Armas paid tribute to his sister and wrote on social media, “Fly high forever and ever little sister.”
Reigning Miss Uruguay expressed condolences
Reigning Miss Uruguay Carla Romero expressed condolences on the death of the former Miss World contestant. He wrote on social media, “She understood this world very well. She was one of the most beautiful women I have ever met in my life.”
In 2015, Miss World competition was held in Sanya, China. Sherika de Armas could not make it to the top 30 in this competition. Sherika was one of the six 18 year old participants in this competition. One outlet at the time praised her beauty, height and charismatic personality, calling her one of Uruguay’s most promising young talents.
Sherika wanted to become a model
Former Miss World contestant Sherica de Armas said in an interview, “I always wanted to be a model. Whether it was a beauty model, an advertising model or a catwalk model.”
She further said, “I love everything related to fashion. I think any girl’s dream in beauty pageants is to get the opportunity to participate in Miss Universe (pageant).
