New Delhi. In the upcoming season of IPL, BCCI has decided to take strict action against those players who register in the player auction and after getting the contract, withdraw before the start of the season. The Indian Cricket Board has now decided to ban those players. If any player does this then he will be banned from participating in IPL and auction for the next 2 seasons. Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan is happy with this decision of BCCI. Pathan says that he was talking about it for the last two years. Finally the decision has been taken by BCCI on this.
Irfan Pathan wrote on social media, ‘I have been talking about this for the last two years. Nice to see this decision of BCCI. Players who declare themselves unavailable after being selected in the auction will now be banned for two years. In many ways IPL is now getting stronger. In this list, there are a large number of players from England and Australia who register their names in the auction and when they are bought by a team, they declare themselves unavailable just before the start of the tournament. The new rule has created panic among those players who used to stay away from the tournament by making excuses.
Home Cricket Board will give injury report
“The only exception will be for injury or medical condition of the player, which will be confirmed by the player’s home board,” the IPL Governing Council said at the annual general meeting held in Bengaluru ahead of the players’ mega auction. That means, if a player gets injured, it will have to be confirmed by his board, only then will it be valid.
Players will get match fees for the first time
Now players will also get match fees in IPL. He will get Rs 7.5 lakh for one match. Apart from this, the contract they have with the franchise will be available separately. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said, ‘Taking a historic step to celebrate consistency and great performances in the IPL, we are thrilled to introduce a match fee of Rs 7.5 lakh per match for our cricketers. A cricketer who plays all the league matches in a season will get Rs 1.05 crore in addition to his contracted amount.
