Batting first, PNG’s team was reduced to a score of just 78 runs in front of Lockie Ferguson’s lethal bowling. Chasing the target, New Zealand won by losing 3 wickets in 12.2 overs.
After a disappointing performance in the ICC T20 World Cup, the New Zealand team got the joy of victory in the last match. After losing the first match of the tournament against Afghanistan, the team got victory against Uganda. The hopes of Super 8 were dashed by the shameful defeat against West Indies and the team was eliminated in the first round. In the last match against PNG, the team appeared in full form.
