An MLA from Maharashtra’s Amravati district has sparked controversy by claiming that a farmer’s son has to be content with a low-status bride as the most good-looking girls prefer to marry a man who has Have a stable job.
Devendra Bhuyar is an independent MLA from Varud-Morshi.
Devendra Bhuyar, independent MLA from Warud-Morshi and supporter of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, was talking about the problems of farmers while speaking at a meeting in Warud tehsil of the district on Tuesday. He said, if a girl is beautiful, she will not like a man like you and me, but she will choose a man with a job. He said, girls who are in second place, i.e. those who are less handsome, like the guy who runs a grocery shop or a paan shop.
He said, the third girl would like to marry a farmer’s son. He further said that only girls from the lowest status marry a boy from a farmer family. He said that children born from such marriages are also not beautiful.
Congress leader criticized Devendra Bhuyar
Meanwhile, Congress leader and former Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur criticized Bhuyar for using such language while talking about women. Yashomati Thakur, MLA from the same district, said, Ajit Pawar and those in power should keep their MLAs under control. No one will tolerate this kind of classification of women. Society will teach you a lesson.
