External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday congratulated Team India on winning the second ICC T20 World Cup. During this, the Foreign Minister shared his happiness and said, what a match, what a catch.

Let us tell you that India won the title by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final of the T20 World Cup in Barbados. In celebration of Team India’s victory, Foreign Minister Jaishankar posted on Instagram and said, India has ended its 11-year ICC trophy drought by winning its first ICC title after the Champions Trophy in 2013. Congratulations to Team India for this. The Foreign Minister further wrote, what a match, what a catch.

The Foreign Minister said, the trio of Arshdeep Singh, Jaspreet Bumrah and Hardik Pandya displayed excellent death bowling. With the help of brilliant innings of Virat Kohli and Akshar Patel, India defeated South Africa and won the second T20 World Cup. He said that India is the first team to win the title without losing a single match.

Batting first in the final of the T20 World Cup, South Africa scored 176 runs. South Africa came out to chase 177 runs and got a jolt in the beginning with fast bowlers Jaspreet Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh taking wickets, due to which South Africa had a bad start.

While Bumrah dismissed Reeza Hendricks for four runs, Arshdeep also dismissed captain Aiden Markram for four runs. Markram’s catch was taken by the dashing wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant standing behind the wicket. After both the wickets, Tristan Stubbs and Quinton de Kock appeared to dominate Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel.
