Another shameful defeat has been added to the name of England cricket team in the ICC ODI World Cup. Till now, the team, which has been the victim of about half a dozen upsets including T20 and ODI World Cup, could not face the spin of a 22 year old boy this time. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Jardan made a century opening partnership against the English team, which won the toss and came to bowl first. Although England bundled out Afghanistan for 284 runs, it became difficult for the team to score this score.

England’s 22 year old boy is ahead
It became difficult for world champions England to achieve the target of 285 runs set by Afghanistan because of the 22 years 201 days old spinner. Mujeeb ur Rahman took three big wickets and all at a time when England was trying to recover. Experienced Joe Root and Chris Woakes were clean bowled while Harry Brook, who batted fiercely, was caught by Ikram behind the wicket. These three wickets changed the course of the match. Not only this, Mujeeb also played an important inning of 28 runs in 16 balls which put the England team under pressure.

spin trio shine
For the Afghanistan team, the spin trio did wonders against England and made a historic victory possible. Mujeeb ur Rehman and Rashid Khan took 3 wickets each while experienced Mohammad Nabi dismissed two English batsmen. Rashiq gave 37 runs in 9.3 overs while Nabi gave only 16 runs in 6 overs.
