England captain Jos Buttler admitted that in the match, his batsmen could not show aggression like South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, whose innings created the difference between the two teams.
De Kock scored 65 runs in 38 balls, which helped South Africa score 163 runs for six wickets. In response, England’s team could only score 156 runs for six wickets. Butler said after the match, “The way De Kock batted really put pressure on us. He played some great shots and we could not match him. I believe his innings made a difference in the match.”
He said, “It was very difficult for us to bowl in the power play because De Kock took risks and played some great shots. As I said, I think the performance in the power play made a difference in the match.”
