South Africa registered their second consecutive win in the Super Eight stage by defeating defending champions England by seven runs in a thrilling match after Quinton de Kock’s brilliant batting and a strong performance by the bowlers. Batting first, South Africa scored 163 runs for six wickets in 20 overs with the help of Quinton de Kock’s 65-run innings. In reply, Brook scored 53 runs in 37 balls and rescued the team from difficulty, but he lost his wicket in the last over and England had to face defeat. England’s team could only score 156 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets each for South Africa.
