SpaceX: Private companies have also become active in gaining access to space. Elon Musk’s company SpaceX recently launched a rocket, which proved to be unsuccessful. Musk’s company informed on Friday (12 July 2024) that 20 satellites launched from California, USA with a Falcon-9 rocket are going to fall to Earth.
There was a problem in the upper part of the engine
SpaceX said in an official statement that the upper engine of the Falcon 9 rocket malfunctioned minutes after taking off from California on Thursday night (July 11, 2024). The company said that this malfunction was the first for SpaceX in almost a decade, which was caused by a leak of liquid oxygen. SpaceX said, “Initially the rocket launch went as expected, but the second stage engine did not complete its second burn. Due to this, the Starlink satellites were stranded at an altitude of 135 km from the earth.”
More than 6 thousand satellites are orbiting the Earth
SpaceX assured that when these satellites re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere, it will not pose any threat to other satellites or public safety. Currently, more than 6 thousand Starlink satellites are orbiting the Earth, providing internet service to some of the most remote areas around the world.
During tonight’s Falcon 9 launch of Starlink, the second stage engine did not complete its second burn. As a result, the Starlink satellites were deployed into a lower than intended orbit.

Meanwhile, the company has started an internal investigation into the malfunction of the Falcon 9 rocket. This investigation will be conducted under the supervision of the US Federal Aviation Administration. Until the investigation is completed, SpaceX has suspended further projects of the Falcon 9 rocket.
