The Union Budget 2024 has been presented in the Lok Sabha. With the presentation of the budget this time, Nirmala Sitharaman became the first Finance Minister of the country to present the budget seven times in a row. Till now, apart from Sitharaman, the record of presenting the budget for the maximum number of times i.e. six times was in the name of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. In her budget speech, the Finance Minister made many announcements related to youth, women and farmers.

However, opposition parties have come out in protest against the budget, calling it discriminatory. On Wednesday morning, the opposition protested against the Union Budget 2024-25 by showing placards in the Parliament House complex. All the opposition parties in the electoral state of Maharashtra have described the budget as disappointing.
