UP News: There was outrage among the people when the police stopped the traditional procession of Eid Miladunnabi in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. During this, the MLA’s son reached the spot, along with SDM and CO also reached the spot. After this, the procession was taken out after talks by asking not to politicize the issue. 

The whole matter is of Sadar Kotwali area near Ghantaghar. Where processions from traditional Mohalla Kot come and join the main procession. The procession got a little late due to the breakdown of the procession’s vehicle. Due to this, the Kotwali in-charge stopped the procession from going ahead near Ghantaghar. Even after people told that it was a traditional procession, the procession was not allowed to go ahead, so the crowd kept increasing at the spot. People called Sambhal’s SP MLA and former minister’s son Suhail Iqbal to the spot. Seeing him the SDM urged not to politicize the issue. On this the MLA’s son had an altercation with him. The SDM and CO called the people of the main procession and inquired about the procession, after which the procession was sent towards the main procession. During this Suhail Iqbal said that why is there a ban only on our procession, nothing happens to other processions also.

Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar called Arvind Kejriwal a ‘drama’, said- ‘Now he will shout that…’

During this, Sambhal MP Ziaur Rahman Barq, who came to join the procession, said that there should be no obstruction in any traditional procession. The police administration should work with transparency. Do not disturb the religious procession without reason. The procession should have been allowed to proceed peacefully. The procession was moved forward after a long delay. The police and administration are maintaining vigilance regarding the procession.
