The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday raided dozens of locations in West Bengal and poll-bound Jharkhand in connection with its probe into a money laundering case linked to Bangladeshi infiltration. ED raided 15 places in both the states. Official sources gave this information. The agency had registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in September, unearthing the black money while investigating the infiltration of Bangladeshi women into Jharkhand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders are continuously accusing the Jharkhand government of promoting Bangladeshi infiltration.
In the first phase of assembly elections in Jharkhand, voting will be held on 43 seats on Wednesday, while in the second phase, voting will be held on 38 seats on November 20. Let us inform that the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) filed by the agency is based on an FIR of Jharkhand Police lodged at Bariatu Police Station in Ranchi in June.
