Anantapur. Star players who are out of the Indian cricket team are getting a chance to prove themselves in the Duleep Trophy. Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan took full advantage of the opportunity and scored a century in the first match itself. Players like Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag and Rinku Singh will play in the final round of the Duleep Trophy cricket tournament starting on Thursday.

There will be no knockout matches in this tournament being played at the beginning of the season. The team scoring the most points will be the winner. Currently, India C is at the top of the points table with nine points from two matches. It is followed by India B (07), India A (06) and India D (00). The India C team led by Ruturaj Gaikwad will face the India A team captained by Mayank Agarwal in the final round match. The India B team led by Abhimanyu Easwaran will take on India D, captained by Shreyas Iyer.

Iyer, who was ignored for the Test series against Bangladesh, will have to prove himself. So far, he has not been able to lead from the front in the competition. His team has not even opened its account yet and in such a situation, Iyer’s responsibility increases a lot. The selectors will also keep an eye on the performance of India D batsman Sanju Samson and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh. Rinku Singh, who is included in the India B team, could not perform well in the previous matches and his aim will be to play a big innings here.

As far as the match between India A and India C is concerned, big innings are expected from Agarwal, Parag and Sai Sudarshan. Parag has batted with confidence so far but he needs to spend more time at the crease. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, who has returned after recovering from injury, will focus on bowling more overs while Shams Mulani would like to give another match-winning performance.
