New Delhi. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on Friday released the ranking of states providing better ecosystem to startups. In this ranking, Gujarat has once again emerged as the best performing state. Gujarat has performed the best among all the states and one union territory Delhi. All the other northeastern states except Assam and other union territories except Delhi have been placed in a separate category. Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been the best performers in this category.
22 states and 3 union territories participated in it
Releasing the ranking on Friday, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that 22 states and 3 union territories have participated in it. This ranking has been decided on the basis of providing a better ecosystem to budding entrepreneurs to set up startups. According to the ranking framework released in 2019, 30 points are given on the basis of improvement in seven areas. This time the states have been ranked by dividing them into two categories ‘Y’ and ‘X’. All union territories except Assam and Delhi have been included in the Y category. All other states and union territories have been included in the X category. Andaman and Nicobar Islands have become the best performer in the Y category.
