Dornier 228 aircraft made in India reached Guyana will be used by the army

India is now making its place as an exporting country in the field of aerospace and defence. India has sent two Dornier 228 aircraft to the Guyana Army. These have been made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Guyana’s President Dr. Mohammed Irfan Ali has informed about the delivery of the planes. It is reported that both the planes have reached Guyana. He was delivered to Cheddi Jagan International Airport on the evening of 31 March.

According to media reports, the Dornier 229 aircraft were transported to Guyana with the help of Boeing C-17 Globemaster military transport aircraft. In the coming time, the Guyana Army will be able to use them. In India, Dornier 229 is used in transport and freight transportation.

According to reports, the Indian Army has a total of 27 Dornier 228 aircraft. They were first used in the year 1985. Indian Navy is using Dornier 229 aircraft. There are plans to add 8 more aircraft to the fleet. Apart from Navy, Dornier 228 aircraft are also being used in Air Force. There they are used for transport.

Features of Dornier 228

According to media reports, this aircraft has a seating capacity of 19-20 people. The length of the aircraft is said to be 54.4 feet. It can travel more than 400 kilometers in an hour and can fly continuously for 10 hours. The aircraft can be taken to a height of 7.62 kilometers. It also has the capability of landing and taking off in less area.

Dornier 228 requires 2 pilots to fly. Considering these qualities of the aircraft, now the Guyana Army is going to use them.
