There is anger among doctors over the attack on a doctor in a hospital in Chennai. On Thursday, doctors protested in front of Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital. During this time the doctors demanded security. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniam met the victim’s doctor. The doctor injured in the attack is undergoing treatment at Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital. After the incident, the government has decided to give triage tags to the patients on the basis of need.

A young man stabbed a doctor seven times at Chennai’s Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital on Wednesday morning. The young man had accused the doctor of prescribing wrong medicine for his cancer-stricken mother. The doctor was admitted to ICU. There was anger among doctors after this incident. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) had expressed concern over this incident. IMA had said that superficial control measures have been taken by the governments to avoid losses. If this situation continues, doctors in this country will not be able to work without any fear.

After the incident, doctors demonstrated in Chennai on Thursday. Regarding the performance of doctors, Dr. Therani Ranjan, Dean of Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, said that there has been no compromise on OPD services. The doctors wanted to demonstrate and we cannot interfere in it. Medical services are running smoothly.

The condition of the victim’s doctor

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniam met the victim’s doctor, Dr. Balaji. He inquired about the well-being of the doctor. The Health Minister said that the doctor’s condition is improving. He is being closely monitored in the ICU. After investigation he will be shifted to the ward. He said that from today the government has started triage tag based on the medical need of the patients. Temporary identity cards will be given to the relatives of the patients.
