In the case of gang rape of a 12-year-old minor in Ayodhya, the DNA report of the victim has matched with Raju, a servant of Samajwadi Party leader Moeed Khan. Although the DNA of the victim did not match with that of the SP leader, the crime is confirmed when the report matches with one of the accused in the gang rape case. According to medical science experts, if one accused is 70 years old and the other is 25 years old, then the chances of having a DNA match with the younger accused are higher.
The gang rape case was heard on Monday in the court of Justice Pankaj Bhatia in the Lucknow bench of the High Court. DNA report of the accused SP leader and his servant was presented. During the last hearing on September 21, the court had ordered the director of the forensic lab to submit the report within a week. Additional Advocate General Vinod Shahi said that the crime is confirmed as the DNA report matches with the servant of the main accused. He said that the victim had alleged that the SP leader raped the victim and his servant had made a video of the incident. The victim was gang-raped several times after threatening to make the video public.

The main accused Moeed Khan had declared himself innocent in the court. He said that he was being implicated for political reasons. He had denied involvement in the crime citing his age.

The incident of gang rape of a 12 year old minor came to light on July 29, 2024 in Purakalandar police station area of Ayodhya. The victim’s mother had filed a case against SP leader Moeed Khan and his servant Raju. The victim had also said that crimes had been committed at the SP leader’s bakery, house and other places. The case was reported after the minor became pregnant.
