Worship Of Maa Lakshmi And Ganesha On Diwali: The festival of Diwali is considered to be one of the most special festivals. The festival of Diwali is the most auspicious day for gaining wealth. The festival of Diwali starts from Dhanteras and continues till Bhaiya Duja, where Dhanteras, Chhoti Diwali, Diwali (Lakshmi Ganesh Puja), Govardhan Puja and Bhaiya Duja are celebrated for five days. This year there is confusion regarding Diwali. Actually, since Amavasya Tithi falls after two days, at some places Diwali is celebrated on 31st October and at other places on 1st November. Lakshmi Ganesh is worshiped in homes, offices, shops, factories etc. on the night of Diwali i.e. during Pradosh Ritu. Although worshiping Lord Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi throughout the year is beneficial, but worshiping Lord Ganesha along with Goddess Lakshmi on the night of Diwali gives special benefits.
Every year Diwali is celebrated on the Amavasya date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. While Lord Vishnu is worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi throughout the year, on Diwali everyone worships Lord Ganesha along with Goddess Lakshmi. Very few people know why Lord Ganesha is worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi and who are Riddhi Siddhi. Also, why is Shubh-Labh written in Diwali puja? let us know
What are the religious beliefs?
According to mythology, Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi were performing Charyucha in Vaikuntha. Goddess Lakshmi told Shri Hari Vishnu that people worship her to attain happiness, prosperity, opulence etc. I provide incomparable wealth, happiness, prosperity etc. to the devotees. Worshiping me on Diwali is the best. Then Lord Vishnu said, “Until a woman becomes a mother she cannot attain perfection.” You are incomplete because you are childless. When Lakshmi’s mother came to know about this, she became very sad. Seeing Goddess Lakshmi sad at the loss of her son, Mother Parvati made her son Ganesha sit in her lap. Since then Lord Ganesha is called the adopted son of Mother Lakshmi. Mother Lakshmi was very happy after getting Shri Ganesh. Goddess Lakshmi gave a boon to Lord Ganesha that whoever does not worship you along with her, Lakshmi will never stay with him.
Why is Shubh Labh written?
Lord Ganesha is worshiped first among all the gods. Wherever Lord Ganesha is worshipped, his wife Riddhi Siddhi and his son Shubh and Labh are also present there. This avoids troubles in the house. Riddhi and Siddhi are the daughters of Lord Brahma. The mother always sits at the right hand of her son. Therefore the idol of Lord Ganesha should be placed on the left side of the idol of Mother Goddess.
