Dharavi Congress MLA Varsha Gaikwad Resigns before Maharashtra Monsoon Session 2024

Varsha Gaikwad Resigns: Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections Congress had fielded many MLAs in the election. After their victory, they will now have to resign from the post of MLA. In the same process, Varsha Gaikwad has also resigned today.

Varsha Gaikwad contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North Central seat and defeated BJP candidate Ujjwal Nikam. Now Varsha Gaikwad, MLA from Dharavi seat, has resigned from her MLA post.

Earlier, Solapur Congress MLA Praniti Shinde and Dariyapur MLA Balwant Wankhede had submitted their resignations. Hence, 3 MLAs who became MPs from the state have resigned and 4 more MLAs are going to resign.

Congress party MLA from Mumbai’s Dharavi constituency and former school education minister Varsha Gaikwad has resigned. Gaikwad has submitted her resignation to Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar.

At the same time, Balwant Wankhede was an MLA from Dariyapur assembly constituency, he defeated Navneet Rana from Amravati Lok Sabha constituency by 19731 votes. Therefore, these three MLAs are now going to Delhi as MPs. Meanwhile, Nilesh Lanke had already resigned.

Pratibha Dhanorkar is an MLA from Wardha assembly constituency of Vidarbha. In the Lok Sabha elections, she defeated Maharashtra cabinet minister Sudhir Mungantiwar in Chandrapur Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, Marathwada’s Sandipan Bhumare won from Aurangabad Lok Sabha constituency and became an MP. Apart from this, Congress’ Sandipan Bhumare will also resign.

The 48 MPs elected from Maharashtra will now raise their voice in Delhi. In the 18th Lok Sabha elections, out of 48 seats in Maharashtra, 30 seats were won by the candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi. 17 candidates of Mahayuti have also won this election. Independent candidate Vishal Patil from Sangli has also won and he has announced his support to the Congress.
