Ambassadors from 70 countries will witness the lighting of garlands decorated on the crescent-shaped ghats. Along with these, 150 foreign delegates will also witness the splendor of Dev Diwali. Preparations for this have started from the district administration. Deputy Director Tourism RK Rawat said that there will be cultural programs at the airport to welcome the guests.
Folk artistes will welcome the guests through cultural programs at various places. Apart from Babatpur Airport, hotels located in Nadesar and Cantonment and Namo Ghat, all the public squares and intersections will be decorated with fringes. Director of Alaknanda Cruise Line, Vikas Malviya said that the guests will be shown the view of Dev Diwali and fireworks crossing the Ganga from Vivekananda Cruise. They will be served chaat and tea in Kulhar.
84 ghats of Ganga will be monitored from 20 watch towers
On Dev Diwali, the crowd of tourists gathering from Assi Ghat to Namo Ghat on the banks of Ganga will be monitored from 20 watch towers. Two guards on each watch tower will be equipped with wireless sets, dragon lights and PA systems. Apart from two constables, one sub-inspector will also be deployed at the watch towers built on seven major ghats including Assi, Dashashwamedh and Namo Ghat.
Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) S Channappa took stock of the watch towers built on the Ganga ghats on Friday night. At the same time, in view of Dev Diwali, apart from the force of the Commissionerate, eight Deputy SPs, six Inspectors, 70 Sub Inspectors, 680 Head Constable-Constables, five Company PACs, one ATS Commando came from outside to maintain the security arrangements in the city from Sunday to Tuesday. Team and a bomb disposal squad will be deployed. At the same time, in view of the traffic arrangements, apart from the traffic police of the Commissionerate, four TIs, 15 TSIs, 120 head constables and six cranes will arrive from outside on Sunday. On the other hand, Police Commissioner Mutha Ashok Jain took stock of the security arrangements from Dashashwamedh Ghat to Ganga Gate of Vishwanath Dham and Chetsingh Ghat. The Police Commissioner told ACP Dashashwamedh that there should not be any complaint from anywhere regarding security arrangements, vigilance and duty at the Ganga Ghats.
