Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that the creation of theater commands is on track. The Defense Ministry has identified the three theater commands – Cyber ​​​​Command, Space Command and Armed Forces Special Operations Division. Lucknow, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram have been identified as their headquarters. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had said in Parliament on July 2 that the creation of theater commands is on track. The modernization of the armed forces is in full swing.

The Department of Military Affairs (DMA) under Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan is now preparing to unite the three military services for future wars. For this, it is focusing its energy towards implementing more than 150 points. So that a joint culture and work policy can be created there. According to the plan of DMA, the Western Theater is planned to be set up in Jaipur to monitor Pakistan, while the Northern Theater is planned to be set up in Lucknow to deal with the threat from the eastern and northern sides. At the same time, the Maritime Theater Command headed by the Indian Navy is planned to be set up in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, which will keep an eye on the threats arising from the maritime borders.

Repair and maintenance facilities of the forces are also being integrated for common platforms. The latest example of this is Apache attack helicopters, ALH Dhruv and AK-203 assault rifles. At the same time, the government will also implement many of these points in the 100-day agenda of the Ministry of Defense. The Modi government and the BJP have promised in their party manifesto to create theater commands for better preparation to fight future wars.

CDS and the three armies found a way to create theater command through consensus

The creation of theatre commands was seen as a tough task but the CDS and the three services cleared the way for it by coming to a consensus. It is envisaged that the three theatre commands with the CDS at the helm will be fully empowered to utilise resources to efficiently conduct operations in the future.
