Delhi Rain monsoon Traffic jam due to rain in Delhi IMD

Delhi Rain: Rain has been continuing in the capital Delhi since this morning. After which the weather in Delhi has become pleasant. After the rain in many areas of Delhi, traffic was affected in many areas. However, this rain gave relief to the people from the humid heat.

The Meteorological Department had said that light rain and drizzle is likely at some places in South Delhi and South-East Delhi (Akshardham, Lodi Road, Nehru Stadium, Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad, East of Kailash, Chhattarpur, Indira Gandhi National Open University areas, Ayanagar and Dera Mandi).

How much rain fell where?
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), during the last 24 hours till 8.30 am today, Delhi received 9.2 mm of rain at the primary weather station Safdarjung, 7.4 mm at Lodhi Road, 5.6 mm at the Ridge, 17.4 mm at Palam and 40.8 mm at Ayanagar. After the rain in different areas of the capital, long queues of vehicles were seen on the roads.

What is the temperature in Delhi?
The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in Delhi on Thursday was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below the average temperature of this season. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy weather and light rain during the day. The relative humidity level was recorded at 94 percent at 8.30 am.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the capital is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius today. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 78 at 9 am, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category.
