Delhi Yamuna Flood News: Keeping the monsoon in mind, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj took stock of the current condition of the Yamuna barrage located at ITO. Officials informed Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj about the work going on at the barrage to deal with the flood situation. Last year, Yamuna was flooded during the monsoon. People had to face problems due to waterlogging in the surrounding areas. This time the Delhi government has started preparations before the monsoon.

Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, who reached ITO Barrage, said that last year, Yamuna was flooded due to water released by Haryana. He said that ITO Barrage comes under the jurisdiction of Haryana Government. Haryana Government is responsible for operating the barrage. Therefore, keeping in mind the situation of last year, the Irrigation and Flood Control Department has made preparations in coordination with the Haryana Government. He claimed that this time Yamuna water will not come on the roads.

The irrigation and flood control department has made solid preparations. Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that all the barrages have been opened after removing the deposited soil. He said that for the first time an experiment has been done to deal with the flood situation. Under the ‘pilot cut’, water will flow ahead with a fast flow. He said that if there is no obstruction in the flow of water, the possibility of flood will also end.
