Delhi News: Delhi government has taken a big step towards scrapping old vehicles that have completed their life. In this direction, the Delhi government will now give exemption on ‘motor vehicle tax’ to the people of Delhi in the purchase of new vehicles if their old vehicles are scrapped. Chief Minister Atishi This scheme has been approved by the Government of India and very soon a notification regarding this will be issued.
Actually, under this scheme, during the registration of new commercial and non-commercial vehicles, people will get exemption in motor vehicle tax if they deposit the ‘Certificate of Deposit’ (COD) of the old scrapped vehicle in the registered vehicle scrapping facility.
How much discount will you get?
Under this offer of Delhi Government, there will be 20 percent rebate in motor vehicle tax on registration of new non-transport petrol/CNG/LPG powered vehicles and 15 percent rebate for such diesel powered vehicles.
CoD will remain valid for 3 years
Along with this, 15 percent rebate in motor vehicle tax will be given to petrol/CNG/LPG driven vehicles for transport (commercial) use and 10 percent rebate will be given to such new diesel driven vehicles. It is noteworthy that ‘Certificate of Deposit’ (COD) will remain valid for three years after its issue.
