Delhi DTC Cluster buses removed from roads more than 70 routes how passengers go to office ann

DTC Cluster Buses Removed From Road: The problems of people are increasing due to the strike of cluster bus conductors in Delhi. It has become difficult to go to office and return home from there. Not only this, DTC has removed cluster buses from more than 70 routes of Delhi. The direct effect of this is that there is a huge shortage of buses on the roads of Delhi. Daily commuters along with other passengers are facing a lot of problems due to this.

Due to non-availability of buses, people are having to resort to options like auto-cabs to reach their destination, which is also taking a toll on the pockets of the passengers. A contract was signed between the Delhi government and cluster bus operators 10 years ago, under which 997 buses were being operated by the cluster bus operators in 7 depots. Now this contract is ending on 19 June.

The contract was extended by one month on the orders of the court

While hearing the petition of the bus operators, the court has issued an order to extend the contract by one month and has also sought a reply from the transport department. Bus drivers and conductors are on strike since June 8, six days ago, due to the threat to their jobs. A senior official of DIMTS said that efforts are being made to talk to them and convince them to end the strike, but the employees want a written assurance of being given the job, which is not possible. If the contract ends, then the company will be left with no work.

Employees of six out of seven depots are on strike

The strike started from Dilshad Garden, Seemapuri and Rajghat depots, where bus operations were stopped. After this, the strike started in BBM-2 and Okhla depots as well. While from Thursday, conductors also joined the strike by stopping work in Dichaun Kalan depot. In this way, strike has been held in six depots so far, and 650 buses operating from these depots have been removed from the road. Bus passengers are facing a lot of trouble due to the number of cluster buses decreasing day by day.
