Delhi BJP defamation case on AAP leader Atishi appeared in court through video conferencing ANN

Delhi News Today: Aam Aadmi Party leaders have been continuously attacking BJP. AAP has also been accusing BJP of trying to buy their MLAs. Delhi government’s water minister and AAP leader Atishi has also accused BJP of luring AAP MLAs to leave the party.

However, this is nothing new and this has been said by AAP leaders on many occasions before. But this time BJP has taken these allegations of AAP seriously and has approached the court against this allegation.

Defamation case against Atishi
Regarding this matter, Delhi BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor has approached the court and filed a defamation case in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tanya Bamniyal. During the hearing of this case today, plaintiff Kapoor was present in the court with his lawyer Shoumendu Mukherjee.

Water Minister in the Delhi Government and AAP leader Atishi made her presence felt in the court through video conference with her lawyer. Another lawyer also appeared on her behalf in the court.

Atishi appeared in court virtually
During the court appearance through video conferencing, Atishi and her lawyers said that they have not received any summons from the court and any document related to the complaint. However, Kapoor rejected their arguments by presenting the summons service proof before the court.

Atishi denies receiving the summons
On the court’s instructions, Praveen Shankar Kapoor’s lawyer provided the documents related to the complaint to Atishi’s lawyer present in the court room. In this case, the court fixed the date of hearing on July 23 and directed Atishi to appear in the court room in person.

On Atishi’s appearance through video conferencing, BJP leader Kapoor said that it is good that she appeared in the court room, but if she does not apologize, she will have to take bail and the case will go on till its conclusion. He said that Atishi’s statement hurt the sentiments of BJP workers and supporters.

Hence, a defamation suit was filed
Speaking to media persons after the hearing in the court, Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that Minister Atishi falsely alleged that BJP is luring Aam Aadmi Party MLAs to leave their party. Due to which I had to file a defamation case.
