To make the eighth Deepotsav successful, 30 thousand volunteers will spread 28 lakh lamps in 72 hours at 55 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi and Bhajan Sandhya Sthal. There are preparations to create a world record by lighting 25 lakh lamps in this festival of lights. Lamps are being dumped in Korea Park. Till now 20 lakh lamps have been delivered.

Nodal Officer of Deepotsav, Prof. Sant Sharan Mishra said that all the volunteers will reach Ram Ki Paidi on the morning of 28th October. We will start laying lamps after carving Ramayana period pictures on the ghats. This work will continue till October 29, on October 30, the day of the main function, oil will be poured into the lamps from the morning and it will be lit in the evening.

For this work, volunteers will have to work for eight hours every day. Arrangements for taking them to the ghat, tea, snacks and food will be made by the university administration. Instructions have been given to deliver the oil and wick used for burning it before October 29. After the lamps are laid on the ghats, the university and the district administration will jointly take the responsibility of their security. For this, apart from security personnel, NCC personnel will be put on duty.

Dress code fixed, will be seen in T-shirt and cap

Dress code has been set for all volunteers. According to the university administration, all the volunteers will wear white T-shirts and caps. On which the logo of Deepotsav will be imprinted. This T-shirt was provided by the Tourism Department. Whereas the cap will be given by the university administration.

Entry will not be allowed without ICard

Entry of common people without card will be stopped from 28th October at the main event venue Ram Ki Paidi. Nodal officer Prof. Sant Sharan Mishra said that all the volunteers will be given a card with photo by the Avadh University administration. On which his photo, workplace etc. will be mentioned. It will be mandatory for them to wear it around the neck. Others will not be able to use this card, if it is found that action will be taken against the person concerned.
