It is said that Shri Krishna had called all the pilgrimages in Tirtharaj Vimal Kund for his parents. Bathing in Tirtharaj Vimal Kund has special significance. To follow the tradition, every year on Ganga Dussehra, thousands of people take a holy dip in the Tirtharaj Vimal Kund Sarovar with devotion.
A dip of faith in Tirtharaj Vimal Kund on Ganga Dussehra
In view of the crowd of devotees on Ganga Dussehra, the Deeg administration had made extensive preparations. On June 15, the supply of Chambal water was stopped and Vimal Kund was filled with it. The administration said that on June 15, water was supplied to rural and urban areas through tankers. For the devotees visiting Teerthraj Vimal Kund, refreshment stalls were organized at various places by social welfare organizations. At many places, sharbat, lemon sherbet and cold water drinking stalls were set up. Adequate arrangements were made by the administration for the safety of the devotees. Additional police force was deployed to save the devotees from trouble. There was also a steamer arrangement to save the devotees from drowning in Teerthraj Vimal Kund.
